It would be just soooooo

Stumbleupon Review

It would be just soooooo adorable 🙂

—————

In cute fluffy blood-curdling revenge!

—————

In fact if I get a place with an open fire I could even mount them above it, two arms to each wooden chevron. It would be like there’s hundreds of slightly singed cute fluffy bears coming out of the wall to hug me!

—————

I’ve kept the arms though, never know when they could come in handy.

—————

Although not, I hasten to add, cute fluffy bears anymore. After only 6 months of extensive and intensive counselling my therapist has brought me to see that cute fluffy bears is People too, and it’s not nice to burn People.

—————

Thinking about it I should really get a place with an open fireplace so I could use the magazine to light it. Admittedly glossy paper isn’t great, but it would be less of a waste. And I do like to burn things.

—————

Just to clarify, not talking about July and November issues of time magazine.

I subscribe to both it and newsweek, but I quite also cold-bloodedly and deliberately throw out the accumulated Them every month or so, unopened and unread. Because, quite frankly, there’s nothing new or interesting in them, read it all before, just don’t really want to know these days.

Block the opening;
Shut the door;
Blunt the sharpness;
Untie the knot;
Soften the brightness;
Become like dust.

—————

July as well actually, would be the same as Novemeber, but possibly longer.

Although searched pretty extensively for it already, suspect I probably threw it out in a fit of tidyness.

—————

interesting, first time (magazine) then tyres immediately follow.

time and tyres wait for no man I guess…

—————

I seem to be missing November.

has anyone seen it?

It’s white with a faded purple castle.

The Viagra Prank: Ordering Viagra Online, Then Taking It In Church

Dunno whether it’s ironic or just indicative of the subsuming nature of consumerist marketing that this peice is framed by a multitude of screaming ads for.. you guessed it… viagra.

Love the colours in this, almost completely unedited as well. The pic was taken by driving like a nutter along a flooded single track hill road one handed and taking long exposure pics of the water spraying up with the other. then I cropped, and dropped the green channel out. That was about it…

Uzumaki (2000)

Not horror either and actually laugh-out-loud slapstick funny in some places.

Does for plots and story lines what free jazz does for tunes, i.e. does break into one occasionally, but it tends to be a brief abheration only.

Mostly it’s about spirals.

Lots of spirals.

And Washing Machines.

Well, one Washing Machines only.

And spirals in Washing Machines.

One.

Ineluctably.

Otogiriso (2001)

Scream meets, blair witch, meets sliver, meets the haunting.

Except it isn’t, it’s not even horror, in a way it’s not even a movie. More sort of a po-mo cyberpunk meta-movie in the same vein as Uzumaki, but without the bit with the bicycle.

All the visual effects are turned up to 11 on a scale of one to weird, and very attractive with it to. Duotones, quadtones, supersaturated, desaturated, rotated colours, levels compressed till they squeak… yummy.

Japanese Seizure Robots Local Women Asian Russian Latin Black Philippines

If you watch this for long enough the robots tell you to dress in a chiffon silk French maid outfit and burn stuff.

At least that’s what I told the judge.

Pro urodov i lyudey (1998)

One
of the flood of rich sepia toned semi-silent movies about the birth of
the photographic and movie flagellation-and-freak-porn industry in turn
of the century St Petersberg that came out of Russia in the late ’90s.

Marvellous eyecandy, doing for monochrome cinematography what Ying
xiong/Hero (or even Zhang Yi Mou’s narratively superior earlier works
like Hong gao liang or Ju Dou) did for colour.

Like Hero again it isn’t really too encumbered by a story to distract
from the visuals either, and the characters, whilst piquant. are little
more than superficial archetypes.

As a bonus there’s none of the anti-black racism that mars some of
Balabanov’s other movies, although suspect he’s a bit of a chauvanist
git as well, which does come over in this.
