Amazon.co.uk

Well y’know, I thought I had it cracked there for a moment.

Thought I had found away to end the millenia of suffering our race has inflicted upon itself, an end to poverty, famine, pestilance, war.

A way to truly bring about ‘the early days of a better nation’.

My plan was sublime in it’s simplicity, I was astounded no-one else had thought of it and already started things in motion.

All I had to do was add World Peace to my Amazon wishlist, and then wait for some kind soul to purchase it for me.

It would have been amazing.

It would have changed:

* Everything.

Alas is was not to be, World Peace…

I tried to find Him on the

Stumbleupon Review

I tried to find Him on the Christian Cross, But He was not there; I went to the Temple of the Hindus and to the old pagodas, but I could not find a trace of Him anywhere.

I searched on the mountains and in the valleys but neither in the heights nor in the depths was I able to find Him. I went to the Caba in Mecca, but He was not there either.

I questioned the scholars and philosophers but He was beyond their understanding.

I then looked into my heart and there was a sign saying:

“Gone to Lunch, Back in 5 – God”

So I left Him a note saying to call me when He had a moment.

The Afterlife Test, by Heaven Hell Purgatory

.

Hell? Yeah!

.

—————————–

The Afterlife Test

Your score is 21.

You are going straight to Hell! You appear to have the courage and
conviction to live as an individual in a world that pressures you to
become a conformist. You are a seeker of knowledge and an artist of
life. Your future will never be peaceful, but you will be alive.

Nor dread nor hope attend
A dying animal;
A man awaits his end
Dreading and hoping all;
Many times he died,
Many times rose again.
A great man in his pride
Confronting murderous men
Casts derision upon
Supersession of breath;
He knows death to the bone
Man has created death.

The gyres! the gyres! Old Rocky Face, look forth;
Things thought too long can be no longer thought,
For beauty dies of beauty, worth of worth,
And ancient lineaments are blotted out.
Irrational streams of blood are staining earth;
Empedocles has thrown all things about;
Hector is dead and there’s a light in Troy;
We that look on but laugh in tragic joy.
What matter though numb nightmare ride on top,
And blood and mire the sensitive body stain?
What matter? Heave no sigh, let no tear drop,
A-greater, a more gracious time has gone;
For painted forms or boxes of make-up
In ancient tombs I sighed, but not again;
What matter? Out of cavern comes a voice,
And all it knows is that one word “Rejoice!’
Conduct and work grow coarse, and coarse the soul,
What matter? Those that Rocky Face holds dear,
Lovers of horses and of women, shall,
From marble of a broken sepulchre,
Or dark betwixt the polecat and the owl,
Or any rich, dark nothing disinter
The workman, noble and saint, and all things run
On that unfashionable gyre again.

MAOS LEGACY: A NEW CHINA

Love this guy’s stuff, not many people could capture in a single line the essence of the Famine of ’58 to ’61 which left 30 to 40 million dead (about 1/4 of whome were young girls, they were allowed to starve first due to traditionally having less ‘value’ in Chinese culture), often with none left living to bury them. And during which people ate grass, tree bark, and even their own children…

From the page: “MAO’S LEGACY: A NEW CHINA
R. Hu

China has a history, not often told;
New China is more than fifty years old.
He led the Long March, in the fall of ’34;
He ended many years, of civil war.
Mao Zedong was the greatest leader China ever had,
Yet he made many decisions that were very bad.
Mao revolutionized China, and made it new;
Resisted the Japanese, in World War Two.
War, however, would eventually cease;
Mao’s reign had little peace.
The war in Korea, much to China’s expense;
The purpose of it was for its own defense.
Even today, they don’t regret;
He thought the U.N. would be threat!
That was the beginning, there’s more you see;
Stalin died in ’53!
China’s communism had grown very deep;
In ’58 there was a Great Leap!
He formed communes, in every town;
From there on, Mao stepped down.
There was much conflict; it was very crude;
For while, China had no food.
Mao lost support; it was near his end;
The Soviets were no longer a friend.
Yet China continued, to create more and more;
They developed The Bomb, in ’64!
’66 marked the start of ten years;
The Cultural Revolution, left many tears!
Some diplomats came, but very few;
Richard Nixon came in ’72!
Eventually, China and other cultures began to mix;
Mao Zedong finally died, in ’76.
Flags were placed at half staff, they say;”
