\n“Atish Fishon” – (“Volcano”)<\/b><\/p>\n

\nLemar-Aftaab<\/i><\/p>\n

the winds of reason and logic have
\ndisturbed the volcanic thoughts of the artist,
\nhe shall not dance with that spicy
\npizzaz that once defined him
\nto stare endlessly into the infinite sea
\nas the brow ridges of the skull
\ncreates a portrait of intense proportions…<\/p>\n

those were the days of yesteryear
\nas he lay weeping at his fathers
\ngrave:
\n“ma chee guna kardaim baba jaan,
\ntu mera bogo…ma cheee guna kardaim?”<\/p>\n

silent screams to no avail,
\nclose the eyes to imagine those days of
\npouring rains where the
\naroma of the Pacific cafes accented
\nthe deep disturbance inside…<\/p>\n

to plant a seed in the garden of affection,
\nonly to be wounded so badly
\nby the same delicate flower..<\/p>\n

gazing in devotion into her deep drowsy
\neyes puts me in a trance beyond
\nany realm of imagination…<\/p>\n

drowning in an absolute eternal consciousness
\nlike the crazed laughter of the madmen waving
\ntheir canes at the setting sun…<\/p>\n

let us shield ourselves with our digital
\ncell phone umbrellas from the monsoons of
\nthe neon fortune cookies…<\/p>\n

once a glass is broken
\nwe cannot even begin to resurrect what it was,
\nwe can only attempt to replicate a memory of it…<\/p>\n

her smile,
\nphotosynthesis to the weakened heart…<\/p>\n

her wink,<\/p>\n

a potent magical spell upon the rivers of humanity…<\/p>\n

her kiss,
\na venom of ecstasy injected to the
\nmalnourished naive spirit of the poet…<\/p>\n

i would much rather be a fool drowning in the
\nseas of affection, than a wise man
\nwho is always left to wander…<\/p>\n

strawberry flavored pencil caps
\nas the rat race against the hourglass
\nfilters through the naked sun…<\/p>\n

nourishment of the afflicted soul with a dash
\nof supremely enhanced DNA…<\/p>\n

i cannot justify the insanity within…<\/p>\n

i loved her,
\ni adored her,
\nyet i had to set her free from the cage of
