Our love was like
\nA trash can kids threw fast food trash in.<\/p>\n

Your beauty reminded me
\nOf Picasso’s “Guernica,” sort of messed up but cool.<\/p>\n

Your body,
\nA broken pinball machine, kept knocking free games,<\/p>\n

But I couldn’t play
\nBecause I was completely formless.<\/p>\n

I couldn’t see clearly,
\nSo I crashed into the beach and destroyed everything.<\/p>\n

Ants wanted to surf me,
\nBut I was too high.<\/p>\n

I reached down to hug you
\nAnd in doing so caused another eclipse.<\/p>\n

So I mooned you,
\nAnd you mooned me back, and we were happy.<\/p>\n

Our love
\nSoaked into the beach like spilled Sprite.<\/p>\n

Time went by
\nIn audible clicks.<\/p>\n

Tiny, fluffy children
\nFloated drowsily across the sky.<\/p>\n

Their voices sounded distant and happy
\nLike a memory of Hi Ho Cherry-O.<\/p>\n

You stared at me
\nThrough glasses that looked like telescopes.<\/p>\n

You said,
\nIn a metallic voice,<\/p>\n

“Why did we bring them into this world?”
\nEach word scraped like a U-boat piston.<\/p>\n

I must have appeared
\nAs a blob at that point.<\/p>\n

The kids became
\nEternal Whack-A-Mole.<\/p>\n

Homework glided down and fluttered around our legs,
\nPecking at leftover scraps.<\/p>\n

“I wish we had a German Shephard,” you said,
\nAnd then you exploded.<\/p>\n

“I want to be alone,” I thought
\nAs I slowly evaporated in the sun.<\/p>\n
