Many had lost their boots<br \/>\nBut limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind;<br \/>\nDrunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots<br \/>\nOf tired, outstripped Five-Nines that dropped behind.<\/p>\n<p>Gas! GAS! It is dangerous even to speak of how here and there the individual may gain some hardship of soul by it. For war is hell, and those who institute it are criminals.
